Two Factor Authentication, or 2FA, is an extra layer of protection used to ensure the security of online accounts beyond just a username and password.
Types of 2FA you might have used:
- Extra login credentials (sign in twice)
- SMS (the software sends you a code to your phone)
- Email (the software sends you a code to your email)
Types of 2FA you need to implement NOW:
- Biometrics (use your finger or face to unlock a layer)
- Software Tokens (using our favorite app, Authy)
- Physical Keys (YubiKeys)
