Michigan VAN Newsletter 03/10/2023 Hello MI VAN Users! We have a few reminders to share with you this week: Exports Our team reviews all export requests. To ensure we have all the information we need to review your export request, please include the following information in the detailed summary of usage: A brief description of your targets E.g. “Likely Democrats who voted absentee in 2022” or “Voters in Ann Arbor who are likely Democrats”  A detailed explanation of how you will be contacting the voters on your list If you are sending your export list to a vendor, include the name, website, and contact information for the vendor.  You can review our full export policy here. While this document outlines the guidelines and rules for exports, the MDP reserves the right to approve or deny any export request at our discretion.    VAN Access Incumbents will retain VAN access for the duration of their term. You will only need to renew if you decide to run for re-election or another office. To renew or request VAN access for a campaign, please fill out the VAN Access Request Form. Once we've received your form, we'll follow up with more details and next steps.   User Audit We’re encouraging all VAN committees to perform an audit of your VAN users. This is important to ensure that only authorized users have access to the information in your VAN committee. If you’re not sure how to perform this audit, you can find a walkthrough in the Auditing and Administering VAN Users article in our Knowledge Base.   Office Hours We will continue to host VAN office hours over Zoom on Mondays at 6pm and Thursdays at 11am.
